DISASTER MANAGEMENT:
(Earthquake - Tsunami - Typhon)
Most buildings built after 1987 have been certified
by the government and comply with the renewed
earthquake resistant construction guidelines.
Earthquakes have been one of Japan's oldest natural
occurrences and many building developers have
stringent construction methods to prevent damage
and reduce the swaying effects of tremors.
Major
roads are also designated to accommodate emergency
facility vehicles with parks, schools and town
halls also places to evacuate to if a natural
disaster should occur.
